Sometimes the music doesn't start until you click the screen.
Idk why, dude, I don't make the rules.
But if you need to, please click to start the music.
I invested a lot of time finding soundtracks and it adds to the ✨//immersion//✨
Your character isn't awake until she hears the music.
It's plot relevant, I swear.
P.S. I recommend fullscreen.
........................................
You're dazed.
You awake in a dark and cold room.
<img src="images/justl.jpg" width="60%">
Surprised? Nah, this isn’t your first rodeo. Comes with the territory of being a spy.
Startled? For sure.
Usually you wake up to a boss ready to monologue about their doomsday device.
Or to a henchman ready to monologue about how great (or annoying) their boss and their doomsday device is.
But you're not alone, and there’s catchy folk music playing in the distance...
You think you recognize this song...
Is it from some videogame you played as a kid?
Or, no wait, it's a Russian folksong isn't it?
You remember HQ telling you this boss was a music afficionado.
And what was it Agent Zero had said before you got yourself in to this jam?
Something like, "Lol, wouldn't it be funny if T.E.T.R.I.S. got in to peril or something? Lol. Lmao."
You wish he wouldn't talk like that...it's weird and confusing.
Lmao just sounds like he's saying llama wrong.
Well, Agent Zero, thanks for jinxing it!
You can't remember the last time you or any of the other agents had this much trouble with a boss.
Oh yeah, and he gave one other word of advice...something about using back-arrows at your own risk?
Whatever that means.
The room may be dark, but there's a wall just to the right.
You consider shuffling around to get a scope of the room when [[all of a sudden…->Second Agent]]<<audio classy volume 1,1 fadeout>>

THUNK.
Something warm and soft presses against your lower legs.
Surprised? Yeah…this is odd…
<img src="images/landz.jpg" width="70%">
It feels like a body, and you can just make our the shap of someone crouched in what looks to be an awkward z-shape.
But she appeared so suddenly and made a sound a body should not make.
You reach out a hand to feel the strangely familiar head of hair brushing against you, only to realize your arms are pinned to your sides by coils of rope.
(How the heck did you not notice that sooner?)
Also, the music has changed to another variation of the same song.
You feel like that's important for some reason, but you can't place your finger on why...
Oh, no pun intended!
I'm sorry, that was insensitive, you're in a bit of bind right now, aren't you?
“Cass? Is that you?” A familiar voice and scent reach you.
Is that Agent Five?
Using your street name!
You should scold her for saying your real name on a mission, but no sooner do you say, “Rmmph!” before you hear [[another THUNK.->Third Agent]]<<audio accordionone volume 1,1 fadeout>>

And the music has changed again.
Another variation of the melody on an accordion again.
Though this renditon feels more energetic.
It gives the impression of a more skilled player.
Not that the other player was bad!
They were just, less fluid? A little stiff...much like you're beginning to feel as the small space becomes more occupied.
Right, you should try and figure out what's going on.
“Gmm, mph hrmm!” You attempt to speak out.
“Agent One, is that you?” your newest guest asks.
“It is. And I’m here, too.”

“Wait!” gasps Agent Four, observing the shortstacks up against her. “Agent One, we’re the same height, right?”
“Rmmph?” you acknowledge, wondering where she’s going with this.
“And this chamber looks about three times our height…meaning there are only so many of us that can fit in here…hey shortstacks, you got my back?”
“Grmph!” and “Hmmhmm!” they hurumph in the affirmative.
“Hrrrmm!” you grumble.
“Yeah,” chimes Agent Five beside you. “Someone want to tell us what is going on!?”
"Give us one sec..." Agent Four trails off.

"While he's stalled, the other agents can free us..." adds Agent Four.
"And then we can kick his ass," Agent Five says, a little too gleefully.
As if on cue, a sliver of light is seen for just a moment as a small agent slips through a hatch in the ceiling. You hear what can only be Dr. Pro's voice swearing up a storm before the hatch closes again.
"The others got him distracted," she says in a hushed tone, "But let's hurry and get you out of these binds."
"Oof, emphasis on the hurry, please," Agent Red requests. "I may have steel legs, but you gals are getting heavy."
Making sure the tower stays, the small agent starts in your corner of the room and makes her way up unbinding everyone. Phew, it's nice to have your mouth free again! You help freeing agents as well until everyone is poised and ready to climb out of the hatch. Being at the far end, the others motions for you to climb out first so you can use the existing tower to clamber up.
You nod, take a stance, and quickly climb up.
Opening the hatch...
[[it takes your eyes a moment to adjust to the light...->Final Chapter]]<<audio choir stop>>
<<audio bossfight play>>
You and your sisters (in spirit) rise from a hatch in the ground. Emerging in to the large open area you were in at the start of this, before you got blasted by the zel ray.
This space must have been some small old theater with the chairs torn out. That, or a surprisingly well maintained warehouse. It's almost cozy, like a public event space...
Wait, could they have just rented out this space for today's shenanigans?
You don't know whether you're amused or annoyed at the thought.
At the end of the room on a slightly elevated area that could be a stage is Dr. Pro, swearing and fiddling with his device. A series of wires and cathode-ray tubes travel from a turntable behind him, along his back, and down the arm holding the large barrelled zel gun itself.
"Stop there, Dr. Prometheus! If that is your real name!" you shout authoritatively.
"It's not," mutters a henchman, disguising his confession behind a cough. Dr. Pro still notices and shoots him a dirty look.
"We use codenames," the henchman continues.
"Oh, so do we," you reply, glancing at Agent Five to your left. She nods, then freezes as she recalls what happened back in Passage 2.
//I'm so sorry,// she mouths. You shrug. //Apology accepted.//
"Well, T.E.T.R.I.S, I can't say it's nice to see you. I was hoping to, urmph! Blasted thing! To get rid of most of you and make this, oomph! A Fair! Fight!" Dr. Pro grunts as he smacks cathode-tubes and the barrel until the the device makes a soft whir sound. He gives an //a-ha!// in delight and foccusses on the agents in front of him...far outnumbering him and his few henchmen now.
He growls in frustration and shoots two agents nearest him.
"I got 'em," an agent announces and hops down the hatch.
"No!" roars Dr. Pro, raising the zel gun again to shoot.
"There are only so many of us you can fit in there," you remind him.
"So go ahead, shoot as many of us as you want," Agent Blok challenges, "You'll still be outnumbered in the end."
The Doctor grumbles some words that wouldn't be polite to put in to writing here.
The agent who'd just gone down the hatch confidently emerges with the two that had been zelled moments ago.
The handful of henchmen scattered around shuffle nervously.
"Wh-what do you want us to do now, boss?" one asks.
"Go down the hatch," Dr. Pro answers.
"Wha-?"
"Just go down the hatch, Josh!'
"So much for codenames," Josh mutters as he shuffles his way to the hatch and slips through.
"You too, Drake."
Drake throws his hands up in the air, "What the hell, man!? We had codenames!"
He likewise slips through the hatch, but not before throwing an obscene gesture towards the Doctor.
"Ugh, I should've just shot him," he groans as he lazily shoots the couple remaining henchmen beside him.
"Are....are you giving up?" Agent Red asks, surprised.
"I mean, I guess!" the Doctor responds in exasperation. "I only have enough juice for one shot so may as well!'
He shrugs the bundle of tubes and wires off his back and rotates the nozzle of the zel-gun towards himself.
"You know, that storage room had a back door. I didn't think I'd have to use it as a freakin //escape// exit. But, it is what it is! Until next time, T.E.T.R.I.S."
And with that, he uses the final shot on himself and dissapears from before you.
"Did...did he just..." one of the short stacks stammers.
"Oh, he....Oooooooh," Red voices as she blushes, realization hitting her.
Interesting.
You always thought she was gay.
Well, a win is a win!
Congratulations.

Agent Zee appears on Agent Blok.
She sizes things up.
"Errr, sorry y'all, I'm close to the ceiling but not close enough. And I don't trust I'm strong enough to support another body."
She rolls to the side. Fair enough.
Let's try and bring in an agent who //can// reach the ceiling.
"Wait hold up, before that," Zee stops you. "I'm new and I've been itching to ask someone, why are we clled T.E.T.R.I.S?"
"Oh, it stands for The Enigmatic Troupe of Really International Spies," Agent Five answers.
"Huh..." Zee mulls it over. "That's, not very straightforward."
"Well, Agent Carmen came up with it, and English is her third language," Agent Four explains.
"Ohmigaud, Sandiego? I LOVE her!" Agent Two adds excitedly.
"Same! Dang, I haven't seen her in ages," notes Agent Blok, "Where in the world is she?"
"I saw her in Cacún last month," Agent Red brags.
"Lucky!"
The shortstacks clear their throats.
Oh, right, focus! [[We only need one more agent to reach the ceiling and stop Dr. Pro from being able to use his device.->eye7]]<<audio folk volume 1,1 fadeout>>

"Whew, I can practically touch the ceiling with my hair. Nice going, agents," the newest recruit commends you. "His zel gun shouldn't be able to stack ontop of a filled space, meaning..."

Look at you, cool cat. Lettings the credits roll at the end of a game.
Fun fact:
Tetris released on the Gameboy in 1989, but circulated via floppy disks before that.
